The music covers a broad range of groove-oriented music from various electronic, rare funk and soul, Bossa Nova, disco, boogie, jazz, post-punk, Shibuya-Kei, Scandinavian rarities and various other flavors and genre. They launched the first episode on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aerosault.com\/truss\/The_Best_Cuts_of_Music_-_Edition_01.mp3\">December 12th, 2008<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 The idea was to play music we liked and talk about the tracks and artists.\u00c2\u00a0 We started with funk as we both had a broad knowledge of funk music.\u00c2\u00a0 Eventually we started to get bored with the conversational style of the show and began creating story lines around the songs.\u00c2\u00a0 The music output also began changing as we began incorporating more of the music we love and think that people should hear.\u00c2\u00a0 From around episode 20 and onward the show took on the shape that it is today.\u00c2\u00a0 We completely stopped even talking about the songs somewhere in the 40&#8217;s as we figured you could look at the track list and could Google the artist if you really want to know all about them.\u00c2\u00a0 The title and theme song for the show came from a &#8220;commercial songs for radio play&#8221; record that Robe Flax had.\u00c2\u00a0 The chorus line was &#8220;We&#8217;ve got the best cuts of meat!&#8221;\u00c2\u00a0 Robe replaced the &#8220;meat&#8221; with us saying &#8220;music!&#8221; and that&#8217;s how the title and theme was born.\u00c2\u00a0 We put a lot of blood, sweat, and laughs into the show and we hope you find it very enjoyable and at the very least it enlivens and replenishes the life blood of your soul.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Best Cuts of Music is a semi-weekly music, adventure, comedy podcast that stars hosts Robe Flax and Sam Houser.
